SkyAccess

Designing a credible brand and smart booking experience for private aviation

A private-jet marketplace rebranded and rebuilt around transparent pricing and direct empty-leg booking

About the project

SkyAccess is a US-based private aviation marketplace built to make private aviation more accessible. By aggregating empty-leg repositioning flights from charter operators across the country, it turns otherwise unused flight legs into discounted, one-way private jet inventory.

Unlike traditional brokers, SkyAccess offers live operator-listed availability with transparent all-in pricing and allows users to browse and book directly without quote requests, phone calls, or membership requirements.

Challenge

SkyAccess had a live platform and a growing user base, but its early-stage identity and design system hadn’t kept pace with its product scale. The Halo Lab team was brought in to build a strong brand and platform experience aligned with frequent private flyers and value-driven aviation users.

Our process

In private aviation, users expect precision, discretion, and confidence at every step. That’s why we placed clarity and usability at the center of our approach, rebuilding SkyAccess’s brand and product to feel as precise and dependable as the service it represented.

Results

  • Standalone marketplace identity positioned SkyAccess as a transparent, credible alternative to traditional charter brokers
  • Intuitive booking experience gave travelers direct access to discounted flights, cutting out quote requests, phone calls, and wait times
  • Redesigned platform interface brought clarity and consistency across mobile and desktop, making every flight listing easier to scan
  • Scalable design system enabled the client team to maintain brand consistency and build confidently as the product grows

Our approach

Strong results start with open dialogue. At every stage, we work closely with the client’s team, running workshops, gathering feedback, and refining ideas through multiple iterations. If your product needs the same level of care, contact us — and we’ll help turn complexity into an experience people can understand, trust, and use with confidence.

01 Discovery & research

We began with a full platform audit, identifying key friction points across the user journey. In parallel, a comprehensive competitor analysis revealed gaps in the market and helped define where SkyAccess could differentiate itself.

Deliverables

  • Platform audit
  • Competitor analysis

02 Branding

We designed an S-mark logo conveying light movement and aviation-inspired precision without literal symbols. The identity paired black and Tucson red for an exclusive feel, while beige and white added warmth and balance, keeping the system clean.

Deliverables

  • Logo design
  • Color & typography system

03 UX/UI platform redesign

We focused the experience around returning users, surfacing saved searches, price-drop alerts, and live flight inventory on the homepage. Destination and aircraft imagery reinforced the travel aesthetic across route cards and flight listings.

Deliverables

  • Wireframes & user flows
  • High-fidelity UI screens
  • Mobile & desktop versions

04 Design system & handoff

To enable the development team to build without guesswork, all assets, including screens, states, and specs, were conveniently structured for a handoff. Clear documentation and reusable components ensured the product could scale over time.

Deliverables

  • Brand guidelines
  • Design system
  • Handoff specs
