Cloud Native Rejekts is an alternative IT conference platform for people who could not take the floor at the KubeCon conference for whatever reason. They openly refer to themselves as a B-side conference, and there’s nothing derogatory about that definition. On the contrary, this is exactly how they promote and market the platform, with their speakers taking pride in the unlikely title of Rejekts.
TIME FRAME:
3 MONTHSThe client has asked us to design the website along with the entire brand identity for their bold project. The goal was to highlight the rebel spirit and the “alternativeness” of the conference. We had to play around with and expand the general idea, associating the word Rejekt with something cool, daring, and entirely nonconformist.
With such a peculiar project, we had to take a non-conventional approach. This resulted in the all-out in-your-face design, which celebrates and even revels in the idea of “rejection”. It can be seen everywhere — ranging from the scarlet background saying “go home”, to the cross logo symbolizing the dreaded red buzzer of rejection. Everything in our design implies it, while also glorifying it in a way. Despite the global pandemic, the project keeps going and growing, inviting more and more people to speak out.
