About the project
Upstrima is a cloud AI platform built by Gain Energy for upstream oil and gas engineers. It brings work that long lived in legacy desktop tools and spreadsheets — well data analysis, drilling calculations, reporting, and document management — into a single connected workspace.
The platform centers on AI Agents that engineers build, share, and install from a marketplace, alongside contextual chats, document libraries, and a workflow builder. A modular dashboard lets each engineer shape the workspace around the wells, formulas, and data they work with.
Challenge
Upstream engineering still runs on legacy desktop tools and spreadsheets, and most AI products feel generic to a conservative audience. Gain Energy needed a design partner to turn Upstrima into a credible, demo-ready interface that drilling engineers would trust.
Our process
From discovery through delivery, we rebuilt Upstrima’s interface, reshaping flows for the platform’s core modules and landing a calm, modern UI on a component-based system, resulting in a demo-ready industrial workspace.

Results
- Upstrima is live at upstrima.ai, positioning Gain Energy as a domain-AI platform rather than another oil-and-gas chatbot
- The redesign turns Upstrima from a hard-to-read prototype into a streamlined, modern interface that stands apart from the outdated tools in oil and gas engineering software
- The team now has a clickable, demo-ready product to walk drilling engineers and prospective customers through during sales conversations
